Axis gates its buy-one-get-one movie offer behind ₹25,000 of spend from 1 November 2026
From 1 November 2026, Axis Bank's buy-one-get-one movie benefit on MyZone, Select, Privilege and Neo becomes conditional: you need ₹25,000 of settled spend in the previous three calendar months to qualify. Membership renewals on two cards also move to opt-in.
Axis Bank is turning one of its most popular entry-card perks into a spend-gated one. From 1 November 2026, the buy-one-get-one free movie ticket benefit stops being automatic. To get it, you have to have spent ₹25,000 in the previous three calendar months. If you miss the bar, the offer simply does not show up that period.
What is changing, and on which cards
Axis's own MyZone terms spell out the rule: "To be eligible for the Buy one get one free District offer, you need to spend INR 25,000 in the previous 3 months," and "only transactions settled during the preceding 3 calendar months will be considered for eligibility."
| Card | Movie benefit | Gated from |
|---|---|---|
| MyZone, Select, Privilege | Buy-one-get-one free on District | 1 November 2026 |
| Neo | Buy-one-get-one free on BookMyShow | 1 November 2026 |
The threshold is the same ₹25,000 across all four cards. Note that the MyZone's movie offer now runs through District, not BookMyShow, which is a separate move from the spend gate.
How the spend is counted
- Settled only. Only transactions that have settled in the preceding three calendar months count. Interest, fees, charges, reversals and refunds do not count as eligible spend.
- Account level. Spends are totalled at the account level, so an add-on card's spends count toward the same pool.
- EMI. An EMI transaction counts only at the monthly instalment amount, not the full purchase value.
- New cards get a grace window. For a newly issued card, the spend requirement is waived for the month of issuance and the following three calendar months. Upgrading between variants does not count as a new issuance; taking an additional card alongside an existing relationship does.
You can check your qualifying spend through billed transactions on Axis Net Banking or mobile banking.
A second change: memberships now renew only if you ask
From 15 November 2026, complimentary memberships bundled with two Axis cards, Olympus and Select, stop renewing automatically. They renew only after you give explicit consent. If you forget to opt in, the membership lapses even if you are otherwise eligible. This is a smaller change than the movie gate, but it has the same shape: a perk that used to arrive on its own now needs an action from you.
What to do
- If you lean on the movie buy-one-get-one, make sure you are clearing ₹25,000 of settled spend across the three months before the period you want to use it, or accept that it will come and go with your spending.
- If you hold an Olympus or Select card, set a reminder to opt in when the renewal prompt arrives, or you will lose the membership by inaction.
- If the movie perk was a big part of why you kept an entry card, this is a good moment to check whether it still fits. Run your spend through CardPolo's card matcher to see which cards actually pay off for your pattern, or ask Polo Brain which card to put a given spend on.
