Bank of America points will transfer to Alaska's Atmos Rewards from 2027
Alaska Airlines said on 29 September 2026 that customers with eligible Bank of America card products will be able to transfer points into Atmos Rewards in 2027. Which cards and at what ratio are not announced yet.
Bank of America card points have always been cash in disguise. That is about to change, at least for one airline: Alaska Airlines says Bank of America points will move into Atmos Rewards starting in 2027.
What Alaska announced
In its 29 September 2026 newsroom post, Alaska said it "plans to deepen its Bank of America relationship by enabling customers with eligible Bank of America card products to transfer points into Atmos Rewards." It also said Atmos plans to add transfers from "other select global financial institutions" over time.

Why it matters
One Mile at a Time notes that Bank of America does not currently have a transferable points currency, and The Points Guy reports the bank has no major airline transfer partner today. Atmos itself has had just one transfer partner so far, Bilt, per The Points Guy. So this adds a new bank-to-airline route on both sides.
The catch is that nothing that decides the value is public yet. A 1:1 ratio on a card that already earns well would be a real upgrade; a worse ratio, or a transfer limited to a new premium product, would matter far less. Alaska did not say, so we do not guess.
The Points Guy reports the debit card will earn 0.5 points per dollar on most purchases and 1 point per dollar on eligible Alaska, Hawaiian, dining and rideshare spend. Alaska's own post does not list those rates, so treat them as reported until the product launches.
What to do now
- Holding Bank of America cards today? Nothing changes yet. Your points are still worth what they redeem for as cash or travel credit.
- Choosing an Atmos earning mode? The choice opens 1 October 2026 and applies to 2027 flights, so decide before you book next year's travel.
- Picking a card for Alaska redemptions? Until the ratio is published, compare on today's earn and fees, not on a transfer that does not exist yet.
