Bilt cuts World of Hyatt transfers from 1:1 to 4:3 on 1 January 2027, with no exception for top-tier members
Bilt Rewards will transfer to World of Hyatt at 4:3 from 1 January 2027, so 1,000 Bilt points become 750 Hyatt points. 31 December 2026 is the last day at 1:1, and the cut applies whatever your Bilt status or card.
The last big bank currency that still moved to Hyatt at 1:1 for everyone is joining Chase at 4:3. You have until 31 December 2026 to transfer at the old rate.
What changed
Bilt announced on 1 October 2026 that its transfer rate to World of Hyatt will drop from 1:1 to 4:3. Doctor of Credit, One Mile at a Time and Upgraded Points all report the same ratio and the same date.
| Until 31 Dec 2026 | From 1 Jan 2027 | |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 Bilt points | 1,000 Hyatt points | 750 Hyatt points |
| Bilt points needed for a 60,000-point Hyatt night | 60,000 | 80,000 |
That is 25% fewer Hyatt points per Bilt point, or one third more Bilt points for the same stay.
No exception for status or card
This is the part that differs from Chase. When Chase cut its Hyatt ratio, it kept some cardholders at 1:1 (see our Sapphire Preferred post and our Ink Business Preferred post). Bilt is not doing that. One Mile at a Time and Upgraded Points both say the new rate applies regardless of your Bilt elite status or which Bilt card you hold, and Doctor of Credit notes that even top-tier Platinum members do not keep 1:1.
One Mile at a Time reports that Bilt gave three months' notice and no further explanation.
Why it stacks with Hyatt's own changes
This lands on top of Hyatt's own price rises. Hyatt moved to a five-tier award chart this year, and the top price at Category 8 hotels went up by 67% (see our Hyatt award chart post). Points now buy fewer Hyatt nights at both ends: fewer Hyatt points per Bilt point, and more Hyatt points per night at the top hotels.
What it means for you
- Have a Hyatt stay you can book now or in the next few months? Transfer before 31 December and book. A transfer is one-way, so only move points for a stay you actually plan to take.
- No Hyatt plans? Do not move points just to beat the deadline. A Bilt balance that stays flexible keeps its other transfer options.
- Chose Bilt partly because it kept Hyatt at 1:1? That reason ends with the year. Weigh the card on what it earns on rent and everyday spend instead.
