SBI Card and Eternal (Zomato's parent) have launched the Eternal SBI Card on Mastercard and RuPay. Invitations to apply roll out in phases from 22 October 2026.

The Zomato card we flagged at the end of September is now official. SBI Card and Eternal Limited (the company formerly called Zomato) announced the Eternal SBI Card on 15 October 2026. You cannot simply apply yet: early access is requested inside the Zomato, Blinkit and District apps, and invitations to apply go out in phases from 22 October 2026.

The headline rates are generous. The caps are what decide whether the card is worth a slot in your wallet.

Cashback is credited as a statement credit. Business Today lists tobacco, infant food and precious-metal jewellery as Blinkit exclusions from the instant discount. For the 1% base cashback, Live From A Lounge and CardInsider list exclusions that include fuel, wallet loads, rent, insurance, utilities, education, gaming and EMI transactions.

What the caps mean in practice

  • The ₹2,000 Eternal cap is shared across Zomato, Blinkit, District and Bistro. At 10%, you hit it at about ₹20,000 of monthly food and quick-commerce spend; anything above that earns no instant discount.
  • The 5% partner cashback tops out at ₹1,000, which you reach at ₹20,000 a month across Uber, ixigo, Urban Company and Apollo 24/7.
  • The 1% base rate tops out at ₹500, so it stops paying after ₹50,000 of other monthly spend. This is not a card for everything; it is a card for the Eternal apps.
  • The fee waiver needs about ₹16,700 a month on average. Heavy Zomato and Blinkit users will clear it without trying.

One thing we could not confirm on more than one source: Live From A Lounge reports a 3.5% forex markup, which no other outlet we read states. Assume this is not a travel card until SBI Card publishes the full terms.

Who should want it

If Zomato, Blinkit and District together take ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 of your month, this card returns more on that spend than most general cashback cards, and the fee is easy to waive. If your food delivery spend is lighter, or you already hold a card that pays well on food delivery, the ₹500 cap on everything else makes it a weak second card.
