Chase co-brand cards: the $10 DoorDash non-restaurant credit is now monthly, but only for new activations

Chase's DashPass terms for co-brand cards now give a $10 non-restaurant DoorDash discount every month if you first activated DashPass on or after 1 September 2026. Earlier activations stay quarterly. Freedom and Slate remain quarterly per DoorDash.

Chase has quietly made the DoorDash benefit on its co-branded cards more useful, but the improvement depends on a date you may not remember: when you first switched on your free DashPass. Doctor of Credit spotted the change on 14 October, and Chase's own co-brand DashPass terms confirm it.

The split by activation date

Read directly off Chase's co-brand DashPass terms:

First DashPass activation$10 non-restaurant discount
1 Feb 2025 to 31 Aug 2026Once per calendar quarter
1 Sep 2026 to 31 Dec 2027Once per calendar month

The discount applies to one qualifying non-restaurant order (grocery, convenience and similar) and continues while you stay enrolled in DashPass. To check which schedule you are on, Chase points you to the Manage DashPass page in the DoorDash app.

Which cards

DoorDash's help page lists Chase co-brand cards as eligible, except the Amazon Rewards Visa, the Instacart Mastercard and the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard. In our catalog that includes the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless and the United Explorer.

Doctor of Credit's write-up also names the Freedom cards and Slate. DoorDash's own help page does not agree: it still shows one $10 non-restaurant promo per quarter for Freedom and Slate, with six months of free DashPass. We are going with DoorDash and Chase here and treating the monthly upgrade as co-brand only until one of them says otherwise.

The fine print that costs people the credit

From Chase's terms:

  • Subtotal only. The $10 does not cover fees, taxes or tip.
  • Use it or lose it. Unused value on an order is forfeited and does not roll into the next month or quarter.
  • Pay with the enrolled card. Apple Pay and Google Pay checkouts do not qualify.
  • Product changes forfeit the offer. Product-changing your Chase card during the promotion forfeits the $10 discount.
  • The free DashPass is 12 months on co-brand cards, then renews at the then-current monthly price until you cancel.

That last point matters most. If you only activated DashPass for the credit, set a reminder to cancel before month 13, or the membership fee will outweigh a $10 monthly discount you may not always use.

Sapphire is separate

DoorDash's help page lists a different, richer setup for Sapphire Reserve, including a $15 monthly promo usable more broadly from 1 October 2026. That is not part of this co-brand change.
