Wyndham Rewards adds a 45,000-point tier: top hotels get 50% pricier, cheapest get 33% cheaper (15 Sep 2026)
From 15 September 2026 Wyndham Rewards moves from three flat award tiers to four, adding a new 45,000-point top band for its most expensive hotels while dropping the entry tier to 5,000 points. Book the top properties before the switch.
Wyndham Rewards has kept one of the simplest award charts in hotels: a small number of flat point prices, no dynamic pricing. From 15 September 2026 it stays flat, but it gains a fourth tier, and the top of the chart gets meaningfully more expensive.
The old chart versus the new one

Two things move at the edges:
- The cheapest tier drops from 7,500 to 5,000 points, a 33% cut for the properties that stay at the bottom.
- A new 45,000-point top tier appears. Hotels pushed into it cost up to 50% more than the old 30,000-point ceiling.
Wyndham says the 45,000-point band will hold only a limited number of its most expensive hotels, and that most properties will still sit across the 5,000, 15,000 and 30,000 levels. It is not moving to fully dynamic pricing; these stay fixed redemption levels. But hotels are being redistributed across all four tiers, so a property you book on points today can land in a higher band next week.
Who this helps and who it hurts
- Helps: anyone redeeming at the bottom of the chart. Budget and mid-tier Wyndham properties that fall to 5,000 points are a third cheaper.
- Hurts: anyone targeting Wyndham's top resorts and Registry Collection style properties. A two-night stay that was 60,000 points can become 90,000.
What to do before 15 September
If you are holding Wyndham points for a specific premium property, check its current tier and book (or lock the award) before the 15th. Award bookings made at today's rate are priced at today's rate; the redistribution only bites on new bookings after the switch. For everything at the bottom of the chart, waiting is fine, those get cheaper.
